Welcome to Strawberry Mountain Sweets: Our Sweet Journey

Updated: Aug 27

Hello and welcome to the very first post on the Strawberry Mountain Sweets blog! I'm glad you're here, and I can't wait to share the story behind my little home bakery and the journey that led us to where we are today.

It all started in 2019 with a simple wish: to create something magical for my daughter's 3rd birthday party. She wanted a Beauty and the Beast theme, and nothing seemed more fitting than adding a touch of France to her celebration. That's when I decided to try my hand at making macarons for the first time. What began as a special treat for my daughter's birthday soon blossomed into a full-fledged passion.

At the time, we were living on a beautiful mountaintop on Strawberry Road with the sweetest of sunset views. The name "Strawberry Mountain Sweets" seemed to capture both the spirit of our location and the sweetness of the desserts I loved to create. It was the perfect fit for my new venture.

Since then, our family's journey has taken us down new paths. We recently sold our mountaintop home and purchased a farm, which we're in the process of lovingly renovating. The farm has its own story, as it's slowly being brought back to life after a tornado passed through. It's a labor of love, much like Strawberry Mountain Sweets, and we're excited about the future it holds.

As I look back, it's incredible to see how far we've come, from that first batch of macarons to where we are now. I never imagined my daughter's birthday macarons would turn into a "real" business, a place where I've had the joy of making new friends among my wonderful customers and even being featured in a couple of magazines.

This blog will be a space where I share more about our adventures, special sets and events, and, of course, all things sweet and delicious. I hope you'll join me as we continue this journey together!

Thank you for being here, and welcome to the sweet world of Strawberry Mountain Sweets.

With love,

Mackenzie Harper
